Reports in Turkey suggest that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has encouraged fellow Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman to join Galatasaray as speculation over the winger’s future continues to grow.
Lookman only completed a move to Atlético Madrid from Atalanta during the January transfer window, ending months of interest from several leading European clubs.
The 28-year-old has settled quickly in Spain, making an immediate impact with nine goals and four assists in 24 appearances across all competitions. His strong form has helped fuel fresh transfer rumours despite his recent arrival in La Liga.
Atletico Madrid join race for Osimhen as Galatasaray face growing transfer interest
According to Turkish outlet Habersarikirmizi, Osimhen has personally spoken to Lookman about the possibility of joining Galatasaray, where the striker has established himself as one of the club’s most influential figures.
The report claims Osimhen highlighted the atmosphere within the squad and the close-knit environment at the Istanbul club while attempting to persuade his international teammate to consider a move.
Quotes attribute the following message to the Nigerian forward: “We are waiting for you at Galatasaray. Come and be a part of this family.”
A potential deal would reunite two key members of the Nigerian national team and hand Galatasaray a significant boost ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
Lookman’s arrival would also strengthen the Turkish champions’ attacking options at a time when uncertainty remains over the future of Mauro Icardi. The former Argentina international has been linked with a summer departure, prompting Galatasaray to assess possible reinforcements in forward areas.
