Fulham FC are monitoring Chibuike Nwaiwu following the defender’s impressive campaign with Trabzonspor, according to FourFourTwo.
The 22-year-old centre-back has emerged as one of the most consistent young defenders in the Süper Lig, combining strong aerial ability with a growing goal threat. He has scored four times this season, including a decisive strike against Galatasaray and a brace versus Fatih Karagümrük.
Nwaiwu’s development has attracted wider attention across Europe. Data analysts at the CIES Football Observatory recently ranked him as the top under-23 centre-back in Turkey, underlining his rapid progress.

He has made 32 appearances in all competitions this season, adding one assist to his four goals, and remains under contract with Trabzonspor until 2030. His current market valuation is reported to be around €7m, though that figure is expected to rise if his form continues.
Fulham are assessing defensive options as they plan ahead, with the futures of Calvin Bassey and Issa Diop still to be resolved.
The Premier League side could face competition for Nwaiwu’s signature, however, with Bayer Leverkusen also understood to be keeping a close watch on the Nigerian, along with his Trabzonspor teammate Wagner Pina.
With interest building, Nwaiwu’s performances in Turkey may soon earn him a move to one of Europe’s top leagues.
