The buzz surrounding a rumored swap deal between Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee has been debunked by Italian journalist Paolo del Genio.
Reports suggested Manchester United were eyeing Osimhen, currently thriving on loan at Galatasaray with nine goals and five assists in just 12 matches. Zirkzee, struggling at United with only three goals in 19 appearances since joining from Bologna, was rumored to be part of the offer alongside cash.

Speaking on Radio Kiss Kiss, del Genio dismissed the speculation as a complete fabrication, labeling it a “market lie.” and being blunt in his assessment.
“There is no chance that Zirkzee ends up at Napoli in a swap deal for Osimhen,” he stated, effectively shutting down the story. Napoli, holding Osimhen’s rights despite his loan, are unlikely to settle for anything less than a significant transfer fee.
While Osimhen’s name continues to dominate transfer rumors, with Chelsea also reportedly interested, this proposed swap deal has been exposed as nothing more than fiction.
