Osimhen quickly began scoring in the French league: on August 11, he made his debut in Ligue 1 against Nantes and scored his first goals for Lille in the same match. In UEFA Champions League matches against English Chelsea and Spanish Valencia, he also scored a goal each.
On July 31, 2020, Italian Napoli announced the signing of Osimhen for a club-record fee of 70 million euros, with potential bonuses of up to 10 million euros. This made Victor the most expensive African footballer in history with a fantastic salary.
