Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) may opt against signing Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, as head coach Luis Enrique reportedly feels the striker shares too many similarities with Randal Kolo Muani, according to reports from Soccernet NG via PSG reports.
Osimhen, who has consistently delivered impressive performances for both club and country, has been a hot topic in transfer discussions. Last summer, the 25-year-old was heavily linked with a move to PSG, but the deal ultimately fell through. Despite this, rumors of PSG’s interest have persisted, fueled by the inconsistent form of current forwards Gonçalo Ramos and Kolo Muani.
Luis Enrique sees strong similarities between the profiles of Victor Osimhen and Randal Kolo Muani, which is why he was against signing Osimhen last summer and has continued his hesitation in approving such a move.

However, PSG’s plans may now shift. Reports suggest that Enrique is hesitant to pursue Osimhen, believing his playing style overlaps too closely with Kolo Muani’s. This decision could rule out a potential move for the Super Eagles star to the French capital.

Even if PSG steps back from the race, Osimhen’s talent continues to attract interest from other top clubs. English Premier League side Manchester United is reportedly keen on the striker as they struggle with underperforming forwards Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Højlund.
Osimhen, currently enjoying a stellar season at Galatasaray, has scored 12 goals and provided five assists in 15 appearances for the Turkish champions. His remarkable form has solidified his reputation as one of Europe’s top strikers.
Should his scoring spree continue, Osimhen could find himself the subject of a major transfer bid during the January window or next summer, as top clubs look to bolster their attacking options.
