UAE club Al Jazira have opened advanced negotiations to sign Nigerian midfielder Anthony Dennis from Göztepe, with European interest in the 23-year-old continuing to grow, according to Footy-Africa.
Footy-Africa understands talks between Dennis and Al Jazira have progressed significantly, although several European clubs have so far been unwilling to meet Göztepe’s asking price.
Belgian side Anderlecht recently saw a bid of about €3 million rejected, while Bundesliga clubs Hoffenheim, Mainz, Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt have also monitored the defensive midfielder.
Coventry City, Galatasaray and Trabzonspor have previously been linked with Dennis, but Al Jazira have now emerged as serious contenders for his signature.
Anthony Dennis transfer stalls as Göztepe hold firm on €9m valuation
Göztepe are understood to value Dennis at around €7 million, with the midfielder having only 12 months remaining on his contract.
Dennis wants a move that guarantees regular first-team football, although there are concerns that leaving Europe could affect his chances of progressing with Nigeria.
The midfielder made 31 appearances for Göztepe during the 2025-26 season. His future is expected to become clearer as Al Jazira and his European suitors decide whether to meet the Turkish club’s valuation.
