Nigerian football legend Obafemi Martins in an exclusive interview with Kick Off Nigeria has expressed confidence that compatriot Victor Osimhen will secure a move to a top English Premier League club during the upcoming January transfer window.
Osimhen, 25, is currently on loan at Galatasaray in Turkey from Napoli after failing to secure a transfer in the summer. The forward has been in impressive form, scoring eight goals and providing three assists in just nine appearances across all competitions.

With several Premier League clubs in need of prolific goal scorers, Martins, who enjoyed a successful career himself, believes it’s only a matter of time before Osimhen lands a big move.
“I still don’t understand why and how Victor Osimhen ended up at Galatasaray,” Martins said in an exclusive interview with Kick Off Nigeria. “He needs to be playing in the Premier League, and he will in no time. He’s in his prime years and can perform at a higher level. Clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United are struggling to get consistent goals from their forwards. There’s no doubt Osimhen will join the Premier League.”
Martins went on to suggest that Osimhen’s arrival could turn Arsenal or Chelsea into serious title contenders.
“Look at the main competitors: Manchester City have Haaland, and Liverpool have Mohamed Salah. Both guarantee over 30 goals a season. Osimhen offers the same kind of impact, and I think Arsenal or Chelsea should go all in for him. A strong squad is essential to compete with Manchester City and Liverpool, who set very high standards. If you rely on the same starting lineup every week, it’s hard to maintain consistency at the top. Osimhen is one of the best forwards available on the market,” the former Newcastle striker added.
It is worth noting that Osimhen had a €123 million release clause in the summer. However, the clause will drop to €81 million in the January transfer window, potentially making him an attractive target for Premier League giants looking to strengthen their attack.
